Terms

The agreement between you, your host and us.

Norvik is the place the two of you meet and the party that holds the money until check-in. These terms say what each of us is responsible for.

This is a design template, not a legal document.

Norvik Stays is a fictional company. The text below shows how a page of this kind is laid out and reads; it has no legal force and should be replaced in full before this template is used for a real business.

Who is party to what

A booking is an agreement between the guest and the host. Norvik is not the owner of any home on this site and does not let property. We list it, we hold the payment, and we step in when something goes wrong.

By using the site you confirm you are 18 or older and able to enter an agreement of this kind.

Booking a stay

The price shown on a listing is the price of the stay: nightly rate, cleaning, our service fee and tax, all inside the figure on the card. There is no stage at which the total goes up between the listing and the payment.

A booking is confirmed when payment is taken, not when it is requested. Until then the dates are held for you but not reserved against other guests.

  • Minimum stays are set per home and shown before you pick dates.
  • Guest numbers, dogs and children are limits set by the host, not by us.
  • A booking may not be re-sold, sublet, or used for an event the host has not agreed to.

Changing and cancelling

Cancel within 48 hours of booking and you are refunded in full, fees included, provided check-in is more than 14 days away. After that the host's policy applies, and the amount you would get back is shown before you confirm.

If a host cancels on you inside 24 hours of check-in, we rebook you into a comparable home at our cost or refund you in full — your choice.

Hosting on Norvik

You may only list a home you own or have the right to let. You are responsible for it meeting the safety and licensing rules where it stands.

Our commission is taken from the payout at the rate on your plan. If a booking is refunded, our share is refunded with it.

We may remove a listing that no longer matches the home we stayed in, or a host who asks a guest to pay outside the site.

What is not allowed

  • Paying or asking to be paid outside Norvik — it removes every protection on both sides.
  • Reviews written by anyone who did not stay, or in exchange for anything.
  • Listings that misrepresent the home, its location or who hosts it.
  • Any use of the site that interferes with it working for other people.

Where our responsibility ends

Norvik cover applies to every booking on the terms published on the cover page. Outside that, and except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our liability is capped at the total you paid for the stay in question.

We do not accept liability for a host's acts or omissions beyond our obligations under cover, nor for anything you leave behind in a home.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects a booking you have already made, the terms in force on the day you booked are the ones that apply to it.
