We keep what a booking needs, and not much else.

The short version: we do not sell your data, we do not buy it, and the wishlist you build on this site never leaves your own browser.

This is a design template, not a legal document.

Norvik Stays is a fictional company. The text below shows how a page of this kind is laid out and reads; it has no legal force and should be replaced in full before this template is used for a real business.

What we collect

Three kinds of thing, and nothing beyond them without asking you first.

  • What you give us — your name, email, phone number and the details of a booking. Hosts also give us payout details and address.
  • What a booking produces — dates, the home, the amount, and messages between you and the host.
  • What the site records — pages visited and rough location from your IP, so we can keep the site working and spot fraud.

What stays on your device

Your saved homes are the clearest example. The wishlist lives in this browser's localStorage and is never sent to us — it is why it does not follow you to another device, and why clearing site data clears it.

We use cookies for signing in and for keeping a booking together across pages. We do not run advertising cookies.

Why we hold it

  • To take a booking and pass the necessary details to your host.
  • To pay hosts and meet the tax and accounting rules that come with that.
  • To answer you when you write to support.
  • To detect fraud, which is a legitimate interest of ours and of every honest host.

Who else sees it

Your host sees your name, the dates, the guest count and anything you write to them. They do not see your address or your payment details.

Our payment processor sees what it needs to take the payment. Card numbers never reach our own systems.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How long we keep it

Booking records for seven years, because tax rules require it. Support conversations for two years. Account details until you close the account, then 30 days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to a particular use. Write to us and we will answer inside 30 days.

If you are in the UK or the EU you may also complain to your data protection authority. We would rather you came to us first.
