Twenty answers, and a person if none of them fit.
Everything below is on this page already — the box just narrows it. If your question is not here, write to us and a person replies.
Booking
Thirteen months on most homes. A few hosts open their calendar a season at a time, and those say so on the listing above the date picker.
Once you pick a check-in, anything past the next booked night is greyed out, because a stay cannot run through somebody else's. You can check out on the morning the next guest arrives — that date stays available.
It is set per home and shown on the booking card before you pick dates. Most cabins are two nights; a few are three over holiday weekends.
Up to 48 hours after you book, yes, and free. After that it depends on the host's policy, which is printed in full on the listing rather than hidden behind a link.
Paying
Yes. Cleaning, the service fee and tax are all inside the figure you see on the listing and again at checkout. There is no step where the number goes up.
Once, when you book. Norvik does not split payments across the stay, and no card is held for incidentals unless the listing says so.
They do. Seven nights or more takes 10% off the nightly rate, and 28 nights or more takes 18%. The discount is applied automatically and shown as its own line.
Cancel inside 48 hours of booking and you get everything back, including fees. After that the host's policy applies, and the refundable amount is shown before you confirm the cancellation.
Staying
Check-in details appear on your trip page 72 hours before arrival, and the host messages you the same information. Most homes are lockbox or keypad.
Tell us within 24 hours of arriving. Because somebody from Norvik has slept in every home, we know what the room actually looks like, and that makes the conversation short.
On homes that allow them, yes — set the number in the guest picker and the fee, if there is one, appears in the quote before you book.
Yes. Support runs 24 hours for guests who are mid-stay; everything else is answered inside a day.
Hosting
Tell us about it, and one of us books a night. If it is right for Norvik it goes up with photographs we took; if it is not, you keep the photographs anyway.
3% of the booking total, taken from the payout. There is no listing fee, no monthly charge and no charge for the photography.
24 hours after check-in, to the account on file. Long stays are paid monthly rather than in one lump at the end.
Any date on the calendar in your dashboard. Blocked nights disappear from the guest's date picker immediately.
Safety and cover
Every booking carries Norvik cover: damage to the home up to $1m, and a rebooking guarantee if a home becomes unavailable within 24 hours of check-in.
Government ID, a phone number that answers, and a night one of us spent in the home. We do not list buildings run by a front desk.
The short version: we keep what a booking needs and nothing else, and we do not sell it. The long version is on the privacy page.
Do not. Payments outside the site carry no cover of any kind. Report the message from the thread and we will act on it the same day.
