The stove is not decorative — it ran the whole cabin on two logs an evening. We stopped checking our phones by the second night, which I think is the point of the place.
Cedar cabin with a wood stove and a long view
Whole cabin hosted by Marguerite

Twenty minutes up the fire road out of Ojai, on four acres of oak and chaparral, with the whole valley laid out below the deck. Cedar inside and out, a wood stove that heats the place in half an hour, and an outdoor bath under the pepper tree that is the reason most people come back.
The kitchen is stocked for real cooking — a proper knife, cast iron, coffee ground for you the morning you arrive. Wifi runs at 340 Mbps if you have to work a day of it.

Worked from the deck for three days on the wifi they promise and it held every call. Marguerite left a map of the fire road walks with the good ones circled.
The outdoor bath at night, with the valley lights below, is worth the drive on its own. Bring a torch — the last stretch of road is properly dark.
Took the dog, who was more welcome than we were. Kitchen genuinely cooks — cast iron, sharp knife, salt worth using. Nothing about it is staged.
